Holidays are a Juggling Act

“Home for the Holidays,” used to mean sitting in one spot all weekend, and relaxing to the point of boredom. This phrase now has new meaning after marriage and a baby. Our family is extremely accommodating, but making our rounds is a juggling act that we are still trying to master.

Billy and I are high school sweethearts, and therefore from the same town. We want to see everyone (parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and friends) when we come in town , and we want to be fair. 😉

There is really no such thing as fair or equal when it comes to splitting up family time, and we have slowly learned to go-with-the-flow (especially, me). This weekend, we’ll be doing my mom’s Thanksgiving on Wednesday, and my dad’s and in-law’s on Thursday. With 3 Thanksgiving dinners, we always get our fill of Turkey!

How do you juggle holidays in your family? Do you alternate years, or try to squeeze everyone in, like us?
